Grants:
The deadlines for grant requests from MACF are: March 15, June 15, September 15, and December 15 of each year. Contact Jamie Pierce at 513-539-9914 for a grant request guideline. These are reviewed quarterly by the Distribution Committee. If acceptable, grants can be awarded with the approval of the MACF Board of Trustees. Applications do not carry over to the next quarter. A new request must be made.
The grants for 2009 are listed below.
A $500 grant to Mount Pleasant Retirement Villate to support their purchase of a carillon. A digital musical instrument, the carillon features the sounds of real cast bronze bells. It has more than 400 pre-recorded songs and is to be played for memorial and church services, holiday seasonal songs, and hourly basis chiming or other time increments.
The grants for the first quarter of 2007 are listed below
Monroe Local Schools Elementary Saturday Safari programs received an endowment grant of $350 to hire a magician and to sponsor a Cincinnati zoo program.
Monroe Historical Society received a Maitland Donor Designated Advised Fund of $1500 for shelving in the original building to be used for a “general store” for the community.
Below are grants awarded for 2005-6.
A $400 grant to Monroe Lending Library for a "start-up" grant was approved and paid out of the MACF Endowment Fund in September 2005.
Another Endowment Fund grant, approved in January 2006, was for $400 to the Monroe Lending Library to purchase books on tape or discs to lend to the library members. This grant was later approved to change the purchase of books on tape or discs to purchase best sellers that members had requested.
Also approved in January 2006 was a grant provided by the Maitland Donor Designated Fund of the MACF in the amount of $400 to the Village Ringers of Mount Pleasant to purchase a wheeled carrying case to store and transport the hand bells that the foundation provided previously.
In 2006 a grant was approved for the Monroe Local Schools Elementary Saturday Safari Program to underwrite $350 specifically for a magician to perform at a Saturday event and a Cincinnati Zoo program. This grant was issued out of the MACF Endowment Fund.
A grant was awarded in the second quarter of 2006 to the Summer Youth Theatre in the amount of $300 to upgrade and/or repair its microphones and headsets. This grant was provided from the MACF Endowment Fund.
